August 15 – 19, 2017 #TripReport (Guadalupe Island)

Hi All!

Every trip of Great WHITE Shark is exiting, but adding kids makes it even more, the fist day visibility wasn't cooperating very well but sharks were there, it took a bit longer to spot the first one, they always arrive! Amazingly the following morning visibility changed to a great one, 60’/18m with it more sharks, as early as 6:45 am they took the first bait, from there it was a constant action! A male Cut Caudal shark showed up sneaky, fast, other juveniles in the area had to go, the display of dominance started as soon as male Crazy Luis shark showed up, water temp 72℉/22℃, no wind at all in the area.

Time later Male called Bruce aka Zapata showed up in the area spending most of the time surface swim right by the cages, slow swimmer, a display of power, meanwhile 3 dolphins swam by near surface cages, not leaving behind two turtles of course, another male joined the celebration GARMIN that among with crazy Luis were launching the body in horizontal position to get the bait, then a Panga Ride time! Visiting those corners and beaches to take great pics of Elephant seals, Guadalupe fur seal and the California sea lion, in our third day by 8:00 am we already had seen 3 different sharks, a juvenile showed up to be the 4th shark not taking a break chasing one and other bait without taking a break, even sticking full head out of water open mouth several times in the attempt  of getting the bait. Submersible cage was another perspective to see those non stop sharks swimming so mellow around this cage even sort of hiding behind cages to launch a sneaky attack straight up for that yummy bait!!

August 10 – 14, 2017 #TripReport (Guadalupe Island)

This is the third trip report of the Great White Shark Season.
From thursday 10 to monday 14.

The water temperature was 72F/22C and the visibility around 80feet/24m. Three days of hot and sunny days in Guadalupe island.

The first day started slow and around noon the first shark showed up. In total during the day we had five or six different sharks. Zapata aka Bruce, Crazy Luis and Garmin were some of the animals chasing the bait. The second day probably was the best day. The shark activity started early, Garmin was the first shark in the area and latter on the day; Zapata showed up, but just for a couple of times only. Probably today we had seven or eight different sharks.
The last day of cage diving at seven am the first guest was ready to go in the water. Again Garmin and Crazy Luis were here with another three sharks. The animals were very active today, chasing bait and swimming around the submersible cage.

Overall the third trip of the season was great. A lot of activity around the surface cages and the sharks passing by close to the submersible cage. The people came back with great pictures and happy faces.
Th crossing to Guadalupe was a little rough, took us almost 20 hours to get there. The return to Ensenada was nice and smooth.

See you next time

August 5 – 9, 2017 #TripReport (Guadalupe Island)

Hello !!

Guadalupe Island, well recognized as the Great White Shark Kingdom, gave us lots of action and this season started very well. The first day we watched 5 different great white sharks circling around the cages at the surface, showing us their dorsal fin, biting the bait and even the buoys and also circling  around the submersible cage at 20 ft / 6 m. All of them were males, most of them of 3 m / 12 ft and another of 4 m /12 ft. The water temperature was 72 ºF / 22 º C, the visibility was 30 ft / 9m to 40 ft / 12m.

The next day was absolutely amazing! 10 Great White sharks!! A couple of juveniles, 2 males swimming around the cages at the surface and a big male called Bruce or better know as Zapata of 4m / 12ft was breaching and very aggressive against the bait. Bite Face and Mau were also in the area.

The panga rides were a good chance to appreciate the geography of the island and to watch the elephant seal colonies and Californian sea lions as well. The last day of diving, the action begun early in the morning with the wranglers fighting to keep the bait from the hungry great whites. The first sharks took the bait and one went straight to bite the buoy. We saw 7 sharks including Garmin and Bite Face again. We had a little bit of surge and we were surrounded by lots of sharks (6 to 7 great white) during the day. They really liked to check the cages at the surface, bite the bait and escape with it to the submersible cage.

Lots of Great White Sharks, lot of action in Guadalupe and everybody came back really happy!!

See you soon!!
